On February 25, TSMC released its 2021 annual financial report.

According to the report, TSMC's operating income in 2021 was NT$1.59 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 19%, and its net profit was NT$597.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15%. The basic earnings per share were NT$23.01, and the diluted earnings per share were NT$2.301 billion. The gross profit margin was 52%, the net profit margin was 38%, and the R&D expenses accounted for 8% of the operating income. Among them, the wafer manufacturing revenue was NT$1.41 trillion, accounting for 88.53%.

By geographical location, operating income is 64% from the United States, 13% from Taiwan, China, 10% from Mainland China, 6% from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 4% from Japan.

It is worth noting that compared with the same period last year, only mainland China's operating income declined year-on-year among all regions.
