On December 17, the first Dishui Lake China RISC-V Industry Forum was held in Lingang, Shanghai. At the meeting, Zhao Jing, senior product manager of Saifang Technology, introduced the high-performance RISC-V visual processing platform Fang Jinghong 7110.

StarFive Technology Co., Ltd. (StarFive) was established in 2018. It is a local high-tech enterprise with independent intellectual property rights. It provides the world's leading RISC-V-based CPU IP, SoC, development board and other products. It is the leader of China's RISC-V software and hardware ecosystem. Since its establishment, StarFive Technology has successively launched a series of RISC-V-based products: the world's first intelligent visual processing platform, the world's most comprehensive high-performance microprocessor core supporting instructions, and the world's first AI single-board computer. These products cover industries and scenarios such as smart home appliances, smart monitoring, industrial robots, traffic management, smart logistics, wearable devices, solid-state storage, network communications, and edge computing.

Zhao Jing introduced that Fang Jinghong 7110 adopts TSMC's 28nm HPC+ process, equipped with a 64-bit high-performance RISC-V quad-core processor, with an operating frequency of up to 1.5GHz, 2MB of L2 cache, DDR4/LPDDR4 Memory, and supports Linux. It has a powerful image and video processing system. Among them, the ISP independently developed by Saifang Technology is compatible with mainstream camera sensors, and the built-in image and video processing subsystem supports H265/H264/JPEG codecs. The integrated GPU enables it to have stronger image rendering capabilities, and can complete various complex video image processing and intelligent visual computing, meeting the various visual real-time processing requirements of the edge. It has a rich peripheral interface such as PCIE 2.0, eMMC5.0, HDMI 2.0, MIPI, USB2.0/3.0, 1000M/100M/10M GMAC, etc.

Zhao Jing said that Fang Jinghong 7110 provides a complete platform solution for mid-range computing and edge computing, and will be widely used in cloud computing, industrial control, NAS, tablet computers, HMI human-machine interface and other fields, and will be mass-produced in the second quarter of next year. Saifang Technology provides a complete software development platform for personal single-board computers, which can meet the software stacks of different application scenarios. The SDK of JH7110 is completely open source in the RISC-V community.

Saifang Technology and its partners including the RISC-V Foundation and the Open Atom Open Source Foundation have jointly created a complete, growing and reasonable RISC-V ecological alliance. Zhao Jing said that Saifang Technology has launched the RVspace open source community, and will provide a series of open source projects, online forums, product releases, etc. based on the 7110 development board, providing a communication platform for system manufacturers and development enthusiasts.

In addition to Fang Jinghong 7110, Zhao Jing finally introduced the 64-bit RISC-V processor IP Fang Tianshu, and said that next year Saifang Technology will focus on developing processors based on this CPU IP.

Is RISC-V the best choice for aerospace-grade chips?
At the heart of every successful space mission is a complex and powerful computer system. In the 1960s, relatively basic computing systems took humans to the moon. More recently, the Parker Probe reached the scorching outskirts of our sun, and the Voyager probes left our solar system entirely. Of course, with each

RISC-V, the third largest CPU architecture to replace x86 and ARM, is not qualified: at least not in terms of high performance.
Among the current main CPU instruction systems, x86 dominates the desktop and data center fields, ARM is the king of mobile chips, and the open and open source RISC-V has developed rapidly and has become the third largest CPU system. Since it is not subject to blockade restrictions, RISC-V has also been popular with
