In the early morning of November 30, Twitter officially announced that the company's CEO Jack Dorsey will resign from the position of CEO, effective immediately.
After Dorsey leaves, Parag Agrawal, the former chief technology officer (CTO) of Twitter, will take over his position.
It should be noted that although Dorsey is no longer the company's CEO, he will still serve as a member of the company's board of directors until his term expires at the 2022 shareholders' meeting.
In response, Dorsey said: "I decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from the founder's management."
As for the new CEO, Agrawal will have to achieve Twitter's aggressive internal goals.
The company said earlier this year that it aims to have 315 million monetizable daily active users by the end of 2023 and to at least double annual revenue in 2023.
