In recent years, Samsung has been working hard to maintain the excellent camera specifications of its Galaxy S flagship products. But if recent rumors are reliable, the Korean electronics and technology giant may not debut the 200-megapixel rear main camera on the Galaxy S22 series flagship products early next year, but will first open it to friendly companies such as Moto and Xiaomi for testing. Even so, Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a 108-megapixel main camera and compete effectively with Apple's iPhone 13 and Google's Pixel 6.

Not long ago, Samsung launched a new 22MP image sensor. At that time, many people speculated whether this move indicated that the Galaxy S22 series would usher in this upgrade, but it was still too early.
After years of "pixel wars", this parameter is no longer the only way to improve image quality. Many Android device manufacturers have gradually calmed down and focused on improving other aspects such as lenses/algorithms.
Although @UniverseIce revealed on Twitter that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will not be the first to launch the 200-megapixel mobile image sensor, but plans to wait until the technology matures in 2023 before adopting it, he also shared the details of the Galaxy S22 Ultra's rear quad-camera.
It is reported that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be equipped with an improved version of the HM3 main camera with 108 million pixels, a sensor size of 1/1.33 inches, a pixel size of 0.8 μm, and an 85° field of view.
The secondary camera is a Sony 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 0.6X magnification. The sensor size is 1/2.55 inches, the pixel size is 1.4 μm, with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120° field of view.
The third lens is a Sony 10MP @ 10X telephoto lens with a sensor size of 1/3.52 inches, an aperture of F4.9 / FOV 11. The fourth lens is a Sony 10MP @ 3X optical zoom lens with the same sensor specifications, an aperture of F2.4 / FOV 36.
If the above speculated specifications are confirmed, the camera module of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be quite similar to that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra in terms of pixel count and aperture (F value).
Finally, Samsung's next-generation flagship smartphone chipset will also have corresponding ISP specification upgrades. MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 SoC supports up to 320 million pixels. As for Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, it is still to be officially announced next week.
