On November 25, Moore Thread announced the completion of a 2 billion yuan Series A financing, led by Shanghai Guosheng Capital, 5Y Capital, and Bohai Zhongsheng Fund under Bank of China International, and co-invested by nine well-known institutions including CCB International, Qianhai Fund of Funds, China Merchants Securities, and Hubei High-Quality Development Industry Fund. The funds raised will be mainly used for the mass production and manufacturing of the first GPU chip, the IP research and development related to GPU SOC, and the expansion of the domestic GPU ecosystem. At the same time, it was announced that its first domestic full-function GPU chip was successfully developed as scheduled.

Moore Threads was founded in October 2020 and is committed to building computing platforms in the fields of visual computing and artificial intelligence, developing the world's leading GPU with independent innovative intellectual property rights, and helping China establish a local high-performance computing ecosystem; it has a complete software and hardware design team for designing modern full-function GPU architecture, and the chip has built-in independently developed 3D graphics computing cores, AI training and inference computing cores, high-performance parallel computing cores, ultra-high-definition video encoding and decoding computing cores and other cores.

To date, Moore Threads has established cooperative relationships with hundreds of ecological partners to jointly promote the joint development, performance optimization and application innovation of domestic GPU application software. The company plans to widely enable GPU technology to digital twins, industrial simulation, digital cultural creation, smart energy, smart cities, smart medical care, autonomous driving, robots, digital humans, biological computing and other key areas of digital economic development.

At the end of October this year, Moore's Threads Chengdu R&D Center was completed. It will focus on independent R&D and design of world-leading GPU chips, and rely on Chengdu's complete and mature electronic information industry ecosystem and talent advantages to help build China's GPU innovation ecosystem.
