In the first half of the year, the company put into production 90 million square meters/year of new production capacity, further consolidating its leading position in the industry. The company actively cooperates with Samsung and other end customers to develop MiniLED reflective films. Since the beginning of this year, the commercialization process of MiniLED has accelerated. The company's high-value-added MiniLED reflective films have been rapidly released, and it has become the world's largest supplier with obvious competitive advantages. At present, the global MiniLED TV penetration rate is only about 1%, which is in a period of rapid growth, which will drive a substantial increase in the demand for MiniLED reflective films.
Changyang Technology said that the unit price of the company's reflective film products is affected by many factors such as specifications, types, application areas, and raw materials.
It is reported that Changyang Technology's main product is reflective film for liquid crystal displays. In 2010, the domestic optical film field was still in a blank period, and the market was completely monopolized by international companies. Changyang used reflective film as a starting point to seek technological breakthroughs. In 2012, the company's first generation of optical reflective film came out, successfully breaking the technological monopoly of foreign giants and filling the domestic gap. Through continuous technological iterations and deep digging of the moat, the company's reflectivity of the reflective film has reached more than 97%, which has certain advantages over similar products of traditional international giants such as Japan's Toray, Teijin, and South Korea's SKC. In 2017, the company's reflective film shipments ranked first in the world for the first time and continued to expand its leading advantage. After ten years of long-term accumulation, the company's global market share of reflective films currently exceeds 50%, making it the absolute leader in this segment.
In September 2021, Changyang Technology invested in an 80,000-ton optical base film project, significantly expanding the existing base film production capacity and targeting the 30 billion yuan optical base film market. At the same time, relying on the existing mature functional film research and development system, the company proactively deploys TPX release film, TPU film, CPI film and lithium-ion battery separator to achieve the strategic goal of "ten films in ten years".
