(November 17, 2021, Shenzhen, China) Recently, OPPO officially released a new smartwatch, OPPO Watch Free, equipped with an OLED display driver chip from Beijing Chipone Technology Co., Ltd. ("Chipone" for short). The front of this smartwatch is equipped with a 1.64-inch AMOLED screen, which can display 16.7 million colors, with a pixel density of up to 326PPI, supporting 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and can fully present rich and bright colors. Even in strong outdoor light conditions, the screen can still maintain a good look and feel, which is mainly due to the powerful performance support of the ICNA3310 OLED display driver chip independently developed by Chipone.
This ICNA3310 chip has the characteristics of high performance, high resolution, fast transmission speed and low power consumption, which can ensure that the small-size screen can accurately and delicately present static and dynamic image effects, and clearly restore the color and details of the picture. At the same time, its unique refresh rate control technology accurate to 1Hz and matching gamma design can reduce the refresh rate in AOD mode and extend the terminal battery life on the basis of ensuring color accuracy, thereby improving the wearer's experience. Therefore, ICNA3310 finally passed a series of extremely professional and rigorous tests by OPPO and entered the mass production stage. In addition to the application of smart wearable terminals, this OLED display driver chip developed by Chiptronix can also be applied to smartphone terminals, which can effectively solve the problems of AMOLED screen consistency, brightness attenuation caused by near- and far-end RC of AMOLED panels, and AMOLED burn-in. While improving the module yield, AMOLED screen resolution and dynamic contrast, it can reduce screen power consumption and realize color management enhancement and other functions.

When talking about the future development prospects of OLED, Mr. Liu Honghui, General Manager of Chipone OLED Business Unit, said: "In order to meet the size and process requirements of different application terminals such as wearable devices and mobile phone displays, AMOLED display screens have multiple forms such as hard screens, folding screens, and soft screens according to needs, which places particularly stringent technical requirements on the OLED display chips behind the screen. At the same time, with the rapid development of terminal application technology, the development of mobile phones, wearable devices, AR/VR, human-computer interaction, metaverse and other fields is changing with each passing day. The demand of the terminal market has driven the innovation of OLED display driver chips. Therefore, Chipone will continue to actively deploy the technical research and development of OLED display driver chips in the future, increase resource investment, and strive to provide China's independently developed OLED display driver chip solutions in a wider range of different terminal fields such as smart phones, flexible car screens, smart watches and high-resolution bracelets."
