Chinese MOSFET manufacturers raise prices again in the fourth quarter

According to industry sources, Chinese MOSFET manufacturers such as China Resources Microelectronics, Yangjie Technology and Xinjie Energy are expected to raise their quotations again in the fourth quarter of 2021 to reflect the challenges posed to them by the ever-lengthening delivery cycles.

Electronic Times quoted the above-mentioned person as saying that in the Chinese market, the delivery time of MOSFET chips has been extended to 3 months. The rapidly rising prices and longer delivery time of MOSFET from international IDMs have further stimulated customers' purchasing sentiment.

Chinese MOSFET manufacturers have clearly seen orders for the whole year of 2021. After raising their quotations in the first half of this year, they are considering further raising prices of different products in the fourth quarter based on supply and demand conditions, cost increases and customer structure. At the same time, they will increase production capacity by eliminating manufacturing bottlenecks and achieving technological upgrades.

The person pointed out that many IDMs, including ON Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Toshiba and Texas Instruments, have extended their MOSFET chip delivery cycle from two months to 4-5 months, especially for power applications, and rejected orders from new customers. At the same time, due to the indefinite lockdown in Malaysia caused by the epidemic, these companies' local factories are reducing production capacity.
