Jiwei.com reported on April 29 that in response to the news that the "Gou Zheng Service" APP illegally obtained Skyworth TV user data, Skyworth TV (hereinafter referred to as Skyworth) and Gou Zheng Data (hereinafter referred to as Gou Zheng) both issued statements in response.
Skyworth said that the company immediately disabled the "correction service" on all Skyworth TVs and launched a relevant investigation.
It is understood that the Gouzheng service is provided by Beijing Gouzheng Data Technology Co., Ltd., and has business cooperation with Coocaa Network Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Skyworth. The content of their cooperation is limited to the necessary data collection for the purpose of sampling surveys on domestic ratings. Any other actions beyond this scope have not been permitted or authorized by the company.
In view of the fact that this incident seriously violates Skyworth's core value of putting users first, Skyworth's subsidiary Coocaa Technology has sent a letter to terminate its cooperation with Beijing Gouzheng Data Technology Co., Ltd. and ordered it to delete the illegally obtained Skyworth user-related data.
Special thanks to the Skyworth users who were able to report this issue. Going forward, Skyworth will conduct more stringent reviews of its partners and third-party service providers and do its utmost to protect the information security and related rights of Skyworth TV users. We welcome the media and the public to supervise Skyworth TVs.
Gou Zheng stated that in line with the attitude of protecting user privacy and being highly responsible to users, the company has communicated with Skyworth TV to disable the "Gou Zheng Data Service" APK as soon as possible and conducted an in-depth investigation.
After self-inspection, the "Gou Zheng Data Service" APK is a product of Beijing Gou Zheng Data Technology Co., Ltd. The company has signed a business cooperation agreement with Coocaa Network Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Skyworth. Users of this APK can disable it on their own; the relevant information of user data collected by the company is used for ratings research related businesses: household and individual ratings, ratings effect analysis, advertising ratings analysis and optimization.
Since the "Gou Zheng Data Service" APK involves the collection of user device information, and the company's user privacy policy is not clear enough, it has caused some users to worry about the privacy and security of the users. The company sincerely apologizes to the majority of users. Based on the concept of user data privacy first, the company will improve and perfect the user privacy policy to ensure that information is collected in accordance with the law and within the scope of legality and compliance.
We would like to express special thanks to users and partners for their in-depth feedback on the "Gou Zheng Data Service" APK. The company will also make every effort to protect users' data privacy and related rights. We welcome users and the media to continue to supervise Gou Zheng Data.
