　　On March 10, the Sichuan Provincial Consumer Protection Committee (referred to as "Sichuan Provincial Consumer Committee") held a press conference to announce the results of a comparative test of mobile phones for elderly consumers.

　　In order to select the most suitable mobile phones for elderly consumers, the Sichuan Provincial Consumer Commission tested 10 popular "senior mobile phones" and smart phones that elderly consumers like to buy, with prices ranging from 99 yuan to 2,800 yuan, based on market research. The test included 11 indicators, including safety standards, ease of use and durability.

　　Two samples failed the safety test and failed the plug-in device item. They are the "senior mobile phone" with the trademark PHILIPS and model Philips E258S, which is nominally produced by Shenzhen Sangfei Consumer Communications Co., Ltd.; and the "senior mobile phone" with the trademark Weimi and model X23, which is nominally produced by Shenzhen Xinhuayu Technology Co., Ltd.

　　Whether a mobile phone is easy to use is very important to elderly consumers. This test compares the ease of use of mobile phones in five aspects: font size, sound volume, operation complexity, screen display, and memory occupied by pre-installed software.

　　In general, smartphones are more convenient to use. Xiaomi Redmi9 ranked the best in terms of font size among smartphones, while Musi MISU-M1 ranked the best in terms of font size and screen size among “senior phones”.

　　The external speaker (hands-free) sound of smartphones is better, and the earpiece sound of "senior mobile phones" is better. If elderly consumers only need to make and receive calls, they can choose "senior mobile phones". When purchasing mobile phones, they should pay attention to checking the 3C certification and network access license certification, and comprehensively consider the price, functions, etc. according to the actual situation.
