Vivo announced yesterday that its Xi'an R&D Center has been officially put into use, further improving its global R&D network and layout. Vivo said that the Xi'an R&D Center will mainly carry out project debugging and development in the imaging field and pre-research of some algorithms, providing technical support for accelerating the transformation of R&D results.
IT Home learned that the vivo Xi'an R&D Center is located in the Huanpu Technology Industrial Park in Xi'an Software New City. The initial planning team size is 200 people, which will further support vivo's upgrade and optimization in the field of imaging R&D and help the team focus on creating professional imaging flagships and ultimate experience. The Xi'an R&D Center is expected to expand further this year, and gradually expand into other R&D fields, integrating more R&D businesses to Xi'an.
Since 2017, vivo has established or cooperated with global imaging R&D centers in Shenzhen, Taipei, Tokyo, San Diego and other regions. The professional team has more than 700 people and has achieved breakthroughs in software and hardware development, computing power enhancement, and cutting-edge technology research.
In 2020, vivo and optical brand Zeiss reached a strategic cooperation to accumulate more R&D reserves and cooperation resources in the areas of joint technology development, laboratory establishment, and imaging optics research. So far, vivo has launched professional imaging flagships such as the X50 series and X60 series, as well as lightweight selfie flagships such as the S6 and S7.
