To avoid any potential interference from these devices, users need to keep their iPhone and MagSafe accessories at a safe distance of 6 inches (about 15 cm) from medical devices. When charging wirelessly, they need to maintain a safe distance of 12 inches (about 30 cm).

According to previous reports, three doctors in Michigan, USA, conducted a study on the magnetic interference of the Phone 12 model. They placed the iPhone 12 close to the patient's implanted cardioverter defibrillator to test the interaction. During the test, when the iPhone 12 was close to the device, the device immediately entered a "pause" state.
