South China Morning Post: Domestic iPhone 12 sales are strong

iPhone 12 officially went on sale last Friday. As the first iPhone product to support 5G, the launch of iPhone 12 has been a huge success.

An article in the South China Morning Post pointed out that the iPhone 12 was a hot seller on the first day of its sale.

The article pointed out: "Even at lunchtime, there was still a long queue outside the Apple Store Sanlitun flagship store in Beijing. A scalper who bought several iPhone 12s said that the entrance of the Apple Store was already crowded at 8 a.m. If someone asked me to buy an iPhone 12 in a popular color, I would add 1,000 yuan to the price before selling it."

Compared with the iPhone 11 series, this year's iPhone 12 series has shown strong appeal from the beginning. According to previous analysis by Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, iPhone 12 Pro shipments in the Chinese market will account for about 35% to 45% of global shipments. In the first weekend of pre-sale of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, 7-9 million orders have been placed worldwide.

iPhone 12 sales are also booming in the online market. After pre-orders began on October 16, JD.com's iPhone 12 stock was sold out within 30 seconds; and Taobao data showed that as many as 30 million users searched for the new iPhone in the past 30 days, double the number of last year. 

The hot sales of iPhone 12 are probably because it finally supports the hottest technology 5G. According to reports, within one day of the pre-sale of iPhone 12, the global pre-order volume reached 1.7-2 million, while last year's iPhone 11 was 500,000-800,000-and this year's four products were not sold at the same time.

The iPhone 12 did not come with earphones and a charger in the box, which caused some negative reactions. But the results showed that this change did not affect its sales. The iPhone 12, which is priced at 6,299 yuan, is obviously much more expensive than many affordable 5G phones in China, but the popularity of the iPhone 12 may reach a peak again with the launch of two other products next month.
