On the evening of December 23, AAC Technologies announced that it is considering proposing to spin off its optical business held through Chengrui Optics and list it independently on a Chinese stock exchange. As of the date of this announcement, AAC Technologies has not yet submitted a formal listing application to any relevant regulatory authority in China.
It is reported that AAC Technologies holds 82.0219% of the shares of Chengrui Optics through its subsidiaries AAC Technologies (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and AAC Technologies Information Consulting (Changzhou) Co., Ltd.
According to the information, Chengrui Optics is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of optical products. Based on its consolidated financial statements prepared in accordance with Chinese Accounting Standards, Chengrui Optics' unaudited total assets as of June 30, 2020 were RMB 8,174,735,000 and its net assets were RMB 2,715,776,000.
On the same day, the factory of Chengrui Optics (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. was officially completed and put into production. The first phase of the project plans to invest 3 billion yuan, mainly to produce WLG wafer-level glass lenses for AAC Technologies.
