Headline: The dominance of the four major languages continues to increase

For quite some time, Python, Java, C and C++ were the top four languages in the TIOBE index. They are far ahead of other languages, and this gap seems to be widening. Last year, the market share of these 4 languages was 40%, and this year the share has even reached 55%. This shows that there is not much room for competition at the moment. Java's main competitor C# is losing ground, while Python's competitors R and Ruby are more or less leveling off. However, for C and C++, there is a small threat on the horizon: the programming language Rust. Rust has once again entered the top 20 with an all-time high market share of 0.70%. Rust focuses on performance and type safety. One of the reasons for Rust's growing popularity is that Google began programming the low-level parts of Android in the Rust language.

Python is concise. When solving complex problems, it takes much less time to optimize the algorithm than other languages.

Python, Java, C, and C++ are the top four languages in the TIOBE index. I don't know Java. It seems that I have a long way to go to learn it.
