Sina Digital News, December 16, Huawei held a press conference today and officially launched the HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer Beta version.
Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei's Consumer Business Software Department, delivered a keynote speech at the conference. Wang Chenglu said that the current fragmentation of operating systems has hindered business innovation in the era of the Internet of Everything, and HarmonyOS was born to solve this problem.
With Hongmeng system, apps can run not only on mobile phones, but also on any device with a screen, including refrigerators, smart screens, etc. This will bring more opportunities to app developers, as they only need to develop once to adapt to more devices, not just smartphones.
It should be noted that HarmonyOS itself is not a system developed specifically for smartphones, but is aimed at a broader IoT platform.
So what can the Hongmeng system do?
Judging from the on-site experience, the UI design of smartphones equipped with the Hongmeng system is basically the same as that of the Android-based EMUI 11. It is reported that there will be a brand-new design when the Hongmeng system is officially launched on future mobile phones.
Huawei demonstrated some application scenarios of Hongmeng-powered smartphones at the scene. In the smart kitchen scenario, the Hongmeng-powered smartphone quickly helps smart devices connect to the Internet through the "touch and go" method. After connecting to the Internet, each time you use it, you only need to touch the smart device with the phone to control it.
In the future, manufacturers can also use Hongmeng system to upgrade the software of smart devices and add new functions. For example, if a juicer is only set to squeeze juice when it is first bought, then the manufacturer can upgrade it to add the function of squeezing vegetable juice.
When using a mobile phone equipped with Hongmeng system, users no longer need to download hundreds of megabytes of apps to control smart homes. Instead, they can use them quickly through the quick applications in Hongmeng system. This is equivalent to bringing the experience of "Internet of Everything" to the system. Of course, this premise is that both smart devices and mobile phones are running Hongmeng system.
