The iPhone 12 seems to have encountered many problems, and wireless charging is one of them.
A user named Ben Lovejoy reported the problem last month, saying that he encountered trouble when trying to charge his iPhone 12 with multiple Qi-certified wireless chargers. Specifically, wireless charging worked normally on the first day, and wireless charging did not work on the second day. After restarting the iPhone 12, the wireless transfer point worked normally for a while, and then the problem recurred.
Lovejoy tried wirelessly charging an iPhone 12 with and without a case, but it made no difference. In a follow-up, the issue persisted even in a new version of Lovejoy's iPhone 12 beta.
The good news is that Apple seems to be aware of the bug and is working on a fix. Apple has not yet issued a statement, but some netizens said that technical support staff revealed that Apple is working hard to resolve the problem.
There are also reports that Apple said that this problem is not a hardware failure, but a software problem. In some cases, the system will not correctly read the Qi protocol of the wireless charger, causing the device to be unable to charge.
