On November 18, Leyard disclosed information related to investor surveys, saying that its joint venture with Taiwan Epistar to establish Leyard Microelectronics - the world's first Micro LED display mass production base was officially put into production on October 29 and a ceremony was held.
It is reported that Lijing is currently in the first stage of production and capacity planning. The first phase of the launch period is 2020-2022. It is expected that after reaching full production in 2022, the production capacity will reach 1,600kk/month for self-luminous modules and 20,000 sets/month for backlight modules.
At the same time, Leyard said about Micro LED orders that it released four mass-produced Micro LED commercial display products, 40-inch 2k (P0.4), 54-inch 2k (P0.6), 67-inch 2k (P0.7), and 81-inch 2k (P0.9) globally on July 15. Among them, the 40-inch 2k (P0.4) is the world's smallest LED display product. Since the release, orders have been formed and handed over to Lijing for production. Judging from Lijing's current production capacity, orders are relatively saturated, and it is planned to expand production in the first half of next year.
As for downstream customers, Leyard pointed out that the large orders for commercial display products that have been disclosed will be delivered before the end of this year, and the mini backlight is in the process of customer contact and sample confirmation, and is expected to start volume production in the middle of next year. In addition, in terms of Micro yield and mass transfer, it is currently 1000-1500 pieces/second, with a yield of 98.9%. It also emphasized that glass substrates cannot be mass-produced at present.
