According to Reuters, Huawei plans to sell the Honor brand to the Shenzhen government and Digital China for 100 billion yuan. After the sale, Honor plans to retain most of the management team and more than 7,000 employees and go public within three years.

Honor accounted for 26% of the 51.7 million smartphones shipped by Huawei in the third quarter, according to market research firm Canalys. Honor's products also include laptops, tablets, smart TVs and electronic accessories.

According to people familiar with the matter, citing the above data, due to the thin profit margins of low-end mobile phones, Honor's revenue last year was approximately RMB 90 billion and its net profit was approximately RMB 6 billion.

As of now, Huawei has not officially responded to the rumors about selling Honor.

Despite rumors that Huawei and Honor are going to separate, Huawei has still applied for multiple "Honor" trademarks. According to Tianyancha APP information, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has added multiple trademark information, including "Honor", "HONOR", "Honor Video", "Honor Wallet", "Honor Reading", "Honor Pollen", "Honor Coins", "Honor Select", etc., and the application dates are concentrated on November 5-6. Among them, the international classification of the "Honor Video" trademark involves education and entertainment, and scientific instruments; the international classification of the "Honor Wallet" trademark is financial property management, and the international classification of the "Honor Pollen" trademark is financial property management, communication services, scientific instruments, and education and entertainment. At present, the status of the above trademarks is "trademark application in progress".
