If you are interested in AI, which technology do you focus on? [Copy link]

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a new technical science that studies and develops theories, methods, technologies and application systems for simulating, extending and expanding human intelligence. Currently, it mainly refers to the use of machines to replace humans to achieve cognition, recognition, analysis, decision-making and other functions. Its essence is the simulation of the information process of human consciousness and thinking.

Last week, we conducted a survey on AI on WeChat. Here are the results for your reference:

AI is no longer something out of reach. Almost every company can touch it, and even everyone around us has come into contact with something related to AI intentionally or unintentionally.

From last year's Notre Dame de Paris relying on "AI restoration" to today's public health emergency, we have seen many examples of AI assisting humans:

For example, on January 30, Baidu announced the opening of the LinearFold linear algorithm, which shortened the prediction of the secondary structure of the whole genome of the new coronavirus from 55 minutes to 27 seconds, a 120-fold increase. Another is the automated whole genome detection and analysis platform launched by the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which shortened the genetic analysis of suspected cases from several hours to half an hour based on the AI algorithm developed by Alibaba Damo Academy. At the forefront of the fight against the epidemic, we have seen many major breakthroughs in the combination of AI and medical care. For the screening of suspected cases, AI can also provide effective solutions. There are countless examples like this.

Finally, here comes the question: If you are interested in AI, which technology are you mainly concerned about?

China's artificial intelligence will still require at least 50 years of hard work. The current AI products are semi-finished products with a single function and can only be used as toys.   Details Published on 2020-4-17 23:46

We who make AI chips mainly focus on AI chip-related issues, such as competitors, similar products, performance, applications, etc., as well as AI chip testing. AI chips are becoming more and more powerful, with higher power consumption and frequency, and higher requirements for testing equipment.

However, we generally do not call ourselves AI chips, but CGRA-based computing chips. The AI concept is a bit poorly played.

Dreams always come first, so it would be best if AI robots could help with housework, go shopping, and take care of life.

AI buddy. More about AI’s “joining” in the field of education.

The above mentioned using AI for some functions is exactly the current social design thinking that only focuses on the present and only produces products with a single function. It would be great if we could create a perfect robot.

AI research started in the 1960s, and there was a long period of stagnation in the middle. The main reason is that there is still no good theoretical foundation. In the 1990s, there were basic algorithms such as automatic reasoning machines, genetic algorithms, neural networks, etc. IBM's Deep Blue chess program once caused a small climax in supercomputers, but it was only a flash in the pan and then fell silent again. It was only because of the supercomputing power of Google AlphaGo that artificial intelligence exploded. Calm down, can artificial intelligence really bring about earth-shaking changes? I don't think so! Especially in China, most of them are just hype concepts. There is still a long way to go before it can be truly used on a large scale. A few years ago, a master said: "Artificial intelligence is statistics!" Although it is not very comprehensive, it is very accurate. Some achievements are just model optimization. For example: face recognition, automatic translation, speech recognition, etc.

If you understand what I mean: automatic reasoning machine, genetic algorithm, neural network, and statistics, you can be considered an expert in AI!
