Recently, Disney announced that its Disney+ streaming service has more than 73 million subscribers as of October 3, 2020, far exceeding its initial goal.

According to Disney's fourth-quarter earnings results, the subscription service has attracted 73.7 million subscribers since its launch in November 2019. The media giant initially expected Disney+ to reach 60 million to 90 million global subscribers by the end of fiscal 2024.

“The real bright spot is our direct-to-consumer business, which is so critical to the future of our company,” said Disney CEO Bob Chapek. “On the one-year anniversary of the launch of Disney+, we are pleased to announce that the service had more than 73 million paying subscribers as of the end of the fourth quarter, far exceeding our expectations in just its first year.”

Additionally, Disney reported that its total Hulu subscribers reached 36.6 million in October 2019, up from 28.5 million in September 2019.
