According to Juheng.com, Yageo Group, a major passive component manufacturer, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its third plant in Kaohsiung today (14). Chairman Chen Taiming said that the new plant will be completed and put into production in the second half of 2022, by which time Yageo's production capacity will increase by 25%.
Chen Taiming pointed out that the Dafa Plant 3 is the first new plant built by Yageo in 15 years and will be its last plant. After completion, Yageo's overall production capacity will be 60% in Taiwan and 40% overseas.
In addition, Chen Taiming pointed out that in addition to Daihatsu's three factories, the company will also increase investment in the existing Dashe, Nanzi and Dahatsu factories in Kaohsiung. In addition to responding to and reducing the possible impact of the global trade war and the epidemic, the production lines will be expanded to increase capacity and optimize the product portfolio.
It is reported that Yageo is actively expanding its MLCC production capacity. By the end of this year, Yageo's monthly MLCC production capacity can reach 60 billion pieces. Combined with the monthly production capacity of 20 billion pieces from the acquisition of Kemet, the new Yageo Group's monthly MLCC production capacity can reach 80 billion pieces by the end of this year.
In addition, with the 20 billion pieces produced by its Daihatsu Plant No. 3, Yageo Group will still be the world's third largest MLCC supplier, second only to Japan's Murata Manufacturing and South Korea's Samsung Electro-Mechanics.
