The iPhone 5C was released in September 2013 along with the iPhone 5S. It was also Apple's first "cheap version" of the iPhone, but it was essentially an iPhone 5 with a colorful back cover, including blue, green, pink, yellow, and white. However, it was not cheap. The initial price in China was 4,488 yuan for the 16GB version and 5,288 yuan for the 32GB version, and the protective case cost 228 yuan.
Compared to the iPhone 5S, the price difference was only 800 yuan, which was shocking and made people have no desire to buy it. In the end, its sales were dismal and it was generally considered to be the most failed model in the history of iPhone.
