OnePlus has confirmed that it will soon launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 8T 5G. The company revealed the name of the phone on its social media Twitter and Instagram and announced that it is "coming soon." The phone was previously rumored to be launched on October 14.

A dedicated page for the OnePlus 8T 5G also appeared on OnePlus' Indian website on Saturday. The page is running a promotion where people can participate in a lucky draw to win the upcoming flagship phone. The page also includes a teaser ad for the OnePlus 8T 5G starring OnePlus brand ambassador Robert Downey Jr.

Currently, OnePlus has only promoted the launch of the OnePlus 8T 5G in India. Amazon India will be selling the phone and has set up a dedicated page to tease its imminent launch.

IT Home learned that OnePlus' T series phones usually bring minor upgrades to OnePlus flagship phones launched in the first half of the year. However, the OnePlus 8T 5G is expected to add some design changes to the series. For example, the leaked renderings of the phone show that the back of the phone will use a thick camera module similar to the Galaxy S20. The phone will also reportedly support 65W fast charging, compared to 30W on the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8T 5G phone may have the same 6.55-inch display on the front as the OnePlus 8, but with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is reported that a punch hole on the front will house a 32-megapixel selfie lens, while the rear camera array may consist of a 48-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 2-megapixel configuration.

The OnePlus 8T 5G is expected to run on the Snapdragon 865 chipset, and previous rumors have suggested that the phone will not use the upgraded Snapdragon 865 Plus. However, the teaser ads released by OnePlus emphasize speed, so there is still hope that the OnePlus 8T 5G will be equipped with the Snapdragon 865 Plus.
