At Apple’s fall new product launch conference, iPad Air 4 was the first to launch the 5nm processor A14.
After the announcement of A14, brands such as Redmi and realme have successively announced that their new products will be equipped with 5nm processors.
There is no doubt that this 5nm processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 that will be launched at the end of the year. This is the standard configuration for Android flagships in 2021.
Today, blogger @i冰宇宙 revealed that Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and Samsung Exynos 1000 will both adopt the "1+3+4" three-cluster architecture design (E refers to Exynos, and S refers to Snapdragon).
Specifically, "1+3+4" refers to the super core, large core and energy-efficient core. This time, Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 is built based on Samsung's 5nm process and is expected to use ARM's latest generation of super core Cortex X1, which has more powerful performance than Cortex A78.
According to ARM, the Cortex X1 has a 30% higher peak performance than the Cortex-A77, and the Cortex A78 has a 20% performance improvement over the previous generation Cortex A77 architecture.
If Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 adopts the Cortex X1 architecture, it will not only have greatly improved performance, but will also truly bring a "1+3+4" combination of super cores, large cores and energy-efficient cores.
As usual, Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 will be unveiled in December this year and will be officially commercialized in Q1 2021. By then, Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Xiaomi 11 series, and OPPO Find X3 series will all be the first flagship phones to use the Snapdragon 875 chip.
