Various companies are competing to announce their own fast-charging technologies, and the mobile phone industry is about to enter the era of hundred-watt fast charging.
Blogger @数码闲聊站 revealed that Xiaomi's new 100W fast charging phone has already started mass production, and its wireless fast charging is also very powerful. It will be released next month.
Previously, Xiaomi co-founder and Xiaomi Group Vice Chairman Lin Bin demonstrated the 100W fast charging technology. Laboratory test data showed that with the support of 100W Super Charge Turbo super fast charging technology, a 4000mAh battery mobile phone (turned on) can be fully charged in 17 minutes.
In the first half of this year, Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of Redmi brand, said that 100W fast charging technology has entered the early stage of mature mass production, indicating that Xiaomi will soon put it into mass production for commercial use.
Lu Weibing pointed out that fast charging technology needs to consider five technical difficulties:
1. Loss of battery capacity: The faster the charging speed, the greater the loss of battery capacity. According to preliminary estimates, the battery capacity of 100W fast charging is about 20% less than that of 30W PD fast charging. In simple terms, 5000mAh becomes 4000mAh.
2. Technical implementation (technical architecture): ultra-high voltage charging solution;
3. Performance: How to make 100W charging not only technically achievable, but also ensure that the charging time is long and sustainable;
4. Safety: Multiple protections are required for the motherboard/battery/charger, etc.
5. Cover multiple charging scenarios: consider wired charging + wireless charging scenarios, as well as charger compatibility.
To sum up, Xiaomi 100W fast charging will soon be available to everyone. This will be the fastest charging mobile phone in Xiaomi’s history, and it is worth looking forward to.
