[ATmega4809 Curiosity Nano Review] ASF does not support ATmega4809 [Copy link]

I have been using MPLAB X IDE before, and I want to try to see what the difference is in developing under ATMEL studio, especially whether I can use ASF and compare it with MCC.

Unfortunately, after creating an ASF project, I cannot select ATmega4809 when selecting the chip, which means ASF does not support it.

Since Microchip acquired Atmel, ASF and Atmel Studio have basically not been upgraded, only a few patches have been made. ATmega4809 is a new AVR microcontroller, and it integrates some features of PIC microcontrollers, such as CCL (Configurable Custom Logic). It seems that MCC will be the main focus in the future. The new MPLAB X IDE also does not support the original ATMEGA series?

You need to install the latest version of XC8 and XC32 to support AVR and SAM. Also note that MCC's support for AVR is still to be improved, but ASF is no longer upgraded.  Details Published on 2019-10-8 15:58

It should also be noted that MCC's support for AVR has yet to be improved, but ASF is no longer being upgraded.
