In recent years, as the country has vigorously supported the development of the local integrated circuit industry, semiconductor-related investment projects have gradually increased. At the same time, domestic panel manufacturers have also continued to make large investments in display technology, actively laid out their global presence, and gradually caught up in the field of liquid crystal displays. However, domestic material suppliers have "seldom shown interest".
At the China Display Conference 2020 held today, Li Xiaochang, chairman and CTO of OLED material supplier Guanneng Optoelectronics, said that currently domestic OLED commercial luminescent materials are mostly monopolized by patents from the United States, Japan, Germany, and South Korea, while the localization rate of AMOLED organic photoelectric materials currently used by Samsung in South Korea has exceeded 40%. It can be said that for domestic material suppliers, this grim situation must be changed.
Therefore, Li Xiaochang called for domestic AMOLED panel manufacturers to support domestic material manufacturers to achieve win-win cooperation. He pointed out that the localization of OLED materials has become more complete in terms of know-how and patent layout, and the time for localization has come.
It is understood that Guanneng Optoelectronics is one of the most comprehensive domestic companies with manufacturing technologies for various organic OLED materials, intermediates and organic material purification equipment. Since its establishment in 2012, the company has applied for/authorized dozens of invention patents, and has created various materials urgently needed by domestic and foreign industries for OLED, OTFT and OPV organic optoelectronic devices, as well as high-end organic semiconductors and their intermediates with an annual production capacity of 2,000 kilograms.
