Today (12), Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying held a regular press conference. Regarding the recent news that Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University were banned from using MATLAB by MathWorks, Hua Chunying said that any suppression could not stop the pace of China's scientific and technological development and progress.

It is understood that the US "Entity List" added 33 Chinese entities in May, including: Harbin Engineering University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Cloud Walk Technology, FiberHome Communications, etc., and the new round of restrictions officially came into effect last week. This is also the specific reason why the MATLAB-related authorizations of Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University were terminated.
