Weibo celebrity @手机切达人 broke the news: Huawei will release the Mate 40 series of mobile phones with 5nm Kirin processors as scheduled in October this year, and will supply about 8 million Mate 40 phones in the fourth quarter.
Earlier, foreign media reported that Huawei's next-generation flagship chip is named Kirin 1000 (some say Kirin 1020), and will be built using TSMC's 5nm process.
It is reported that the Kirin 1000 development codenamed "Baltimore" may adopt the Cortex A77 or A78 architecture. The CPU and GPU performance will be greatly improved compared to the current Kirin 990.
Although there are many uncertainties this year, Huawei usually launches a new Kirin processor in the Mate series in the fall. In addition to the regular Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design versions, the Mate 40 series may also have a "super cup" Mate 40 Pro+ new product.
The new Huawei Mate40 series flagship will continue the slightly business-oriented genes of the Mate series and may be the first to launch under-screen camera technology. The Huawei P50 series will be equipped with a 5nm Kirin processor and will focus more on photography and appearance design.
