Touch and driver integrated IC shipments continue! Focaltech's revenue increased significantly by 77.4% in Q1 2020

According to Juheng.com, the financial report released by driver IC manufacturer Dontech today (13) showed that its revenue in the first quarter of 2020 was NT$2.91 billion (same unit below), a year-on-year increase of 77.4% and a month-on-month increase of 3.7%.

Chairman of FocalTech, Hu Zhengda, pointed out that the IDC (integrated touch and driver IC) shipments in the first quarter were better than expected. Among them, the new MUX 1:6 FHD product was favored by customers and began to be shipped in large quantities, accounting for 20% of the total IDC shipments. As a result, FocalTech's market share in HD and FHD specifications increased significantly in the first quarter.

In addition, the epidemic has driven the demand for remote work and learning, and Dontech's tablet IDC shipments have increased significantly. Capacitive touch has entered the Samsung A11 supply chain for the first time, which is beneficial to the company's operations.

It is reported that the current revenue share of Focaltech products is about 50% for TDDI, and about 25% for touch IC and driver IC respectively. As for the launch schedule of new IDC products, Hu Zhengda previously revealed that high refresh rate products are expected to be launched in the second quarter, and Dual Gate HD products may be launched at the end of the second quarter or the beginning of the third quarter. It is estimated that by the second half of this year, the combined share of new products in IDC shipments will reach about one-third.
