Recently, Xiaomi Group and Navitas Semiconductor announced that its GaNFast charging technology has been adopted by Xiaomi for its flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro smartphone. GaNFast power IC uses gallium nitride (GaN), a new semiconductor material that runs 100 times faster than previous silicon (Si) power chips, so it only takes 45 minutes to charge the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro from 0 to 100%.
The core devices of Xiaomi 65W GaN Charger Type-C 65W are Navitas Semiconductor's NV6115 and NV6117 GaNFast power ICs, which are optimized for high-frequency, soft-switching topologies. Through the monolithic integration of FET, driver and logic, a very small and very fast easy-to-use "digital input, power output" high-performance power conversion module is created. Using GaNFast technology, Xiaomi 65W GaN charger is only 56.3 x 30.8 x 30.8mm (53 cc), which is half the size of a standard adapter.
It is reported that Xiaomi has invested in Navitas Semiconductor earlier, laying the groundwork for this cooperation. Xiaomi's investment strategy is to establish upstream and downstream cooperation in the industrial chain through capital injection, while taking into account the dual benefits of investment and business. Through this cooperation, Navitas Semiconductor has also been able to expand its sales channels.

Navitas has a strong and growing team of experts in the power semiconductor industry, with more than 200 years of experience in materials, devices, applications, systems, marketing and innovation success records; in addition, its founders also have more than 200 patents in total. The company's proprietary process design kit integrates the highest performance GaN FET with GaN logic and GaN analog circuits on a single chip. Navitas GaNFast power IC provides smaller, more energy-efficient and lower-cost power for mobile, consumer, enterprise and new energy markets. Navitas has more than 80 patents or is applying for them.
