Tonight (13th), Apple’s official website officially launched the 16-inch MacBook Pro, with prices starting at RMB 18,999.
In terms of the screen, Apple has increased the screen size by narrowing the borders. The screen size of the new MacBook Pro has increased to 16 inches. Its body length and width are 35.79*24.59 cm, which is not much larger than the 15-inch 34.93*24.07 cm. The new display has a resolution of 3072*1920, a total number of pixels of 5.9 million, and a pixel density of 226 ppi. It still uses the 500nit brightness and P3 color gamut of the 15-inch MacBook Pro.
In terms of keyboard, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is the first product to use a scissor-type keyboard after Apple replaced its butterfly keyboard. The new keyboard has a key stroke of 1.0 mm, which can improve the previous problem of hard feel. In addition, although many brands are using the scissor-type structure, Apple has made some minor adjustments and adopted a new keycap structure. The scissor-type structure can lock the top of the key stroke into the keycap, thereby reducing the swinging feeling and improving the feel.
In terms of configuration and performance, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with Intel's ninth-generation 6-core and 8-core processors. The highest-configuration version has an 8-core processor with a turbo frequency of 5.0GHz. Officials say its performance is 2.1 times faster than the fastest quad-core 15-inch MacBook Pro. At the same time, it uses a new heat dissipation structure, with a larger impeller and more blades, which increases the heat dissipation flow of the new fan by 28%.
In terms of image processing, the new 16-inch MacBook Pro has upgraded its graphics processor, using the AMD Radeon RX 5500M graphics card for the first time. The Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics processor is manufactured using a 7-nanometer process, and officials claim that it has 1.5 times the performance per watt compared to previous structures. Coupled with the optimized heat dissipation structure, the GPU's power consumption has increased by 20% compared to before, and the graphics processing performance of the MacBook Pro has been greatly improved.
In terms of audio, the new MacBook Pro has launched a 6-speaker audio system. In the small body of the notebook, they designed a "back-to-back" speaker structure, which allows the two speakers to offset each other's physical impact when making sounds, reducing sound distortion caused by unnecessary vibrations and giving users a better experience.
In terms of battery life, the battery capacity has been increased to 100 watt-hours and is equipped with a new 96W USB-C power adapter, which is 9 watts more powerful than the previous generation, but the charger size is still the same as the 87W 15-inch MacBook Pro.
In terms of storage, the 16-inch MacBook Pro supports up to 64GB DDR4 memory and 8TB storage options. The standard SSD has a capacity of 512GB and 1TB, which is twice the capacity of the previous model. It also provides an SSD up to 8TB, which is the largest SSD hard drive in all MacBooks.
In terms of domestic prices, the i7+512GB SSD+AMD Radeon 5300M+16GB memory is priced at 18,999 yuan; the i9+1TB SSD+AMD Radeon 5500M+16GB memory is priced at 22,199 yuan.
