At the 2019 Apple conference, the new iPhone's starting price was rarely lowered. Recently, Japanese media also analyzed it, believing that Apple's move was an attempt to regain its dominant position in the Chinese market.

The cheapest model in the iPhone 11 series starts at only 5,499 yuan, which is more affordable than the iPhone XR. At the launch event, tech giant Apple also played a game of beating up its competitors, with Huawei's Kirin 980 processor becoming the target.

The reason behind Apple's price cuts and beating up its competitors is that Apple has lost its confidence. There are two reasons. One is that its market share in China has plummeted, and the other is that it does not have 5G. Data shows that in Q1 2018, iPhone accounted for more than 80% of the sales of mobile phones priced between $600 and $800. However, due to the strength of domestic manufacturers, Apple's market share has fallen to 37% in just one year. This is undoubtedly a huge blow.

An earlier survey by the analysis company Counterpoint found that Huawei's share of China's high-end smartphone market increased nearly fourfold to 48% during the same period. And Apple still attaches great importance to the Chinese market, because this cake accounts for more than 17% of their total sales. And the agency predicts that Apple's iPhone sales in China in 2019 will be around 30 million to 35 million units.

Another Japanese media even revealed that Apple also plans to launch a cheaper version of the iPhone next spring to expand its competitiveness. Earlier, we also knew that Apple and Qualcomm officially resumed cooperation to prepare technology for the 2020 new iPhone. However, at the press conference, Apple did not make any statement on 5G.
