Li Miao, deputy general manager of Gokewei's intelligent multimedia business unit, said that high cost-effectiveness, high integration and low power consumption are the reasons why Gokewei has won the favor of customers. Providing customers with a full-stop service from chips, algorithms to SDKs to help customers implement them faster is also a highlight of Gokewei.
Goke Micro has been developing surveillance chips since 2014 and has now formed a complete product line. Through long-term accumulation, Goke Micro has mastered key technologies such as power consumption, image, and encoding. Its products cover H.264, H.265, and 4K. It also has a mature IPC chip architecture development platform, as well as fast SDK package development capabilities and on-site technical support.
In terms of image processing, Li Miao said that currently most manufacturers purchase authorized ISPs from abroad, and only a few domestic companies such as Huawei HiSilicon and Goke Microelectronics have developed their own ISPs, which is a core competitiveness of Goke Microelectronics in image technology. This year, Goke Microelectronics has entered the fourth generation of ISP image processing technology, which has very good effects and has very leading image indicators in noise reduction and dynamic night scenes, which are image indicators that the security field pays close attention to.
Through years of technological accumulation and innovation, as well as precise market positioning, Gokewei has created a unique market competitive advantage. With the deep integration of AI technology and monitoring, traditional IPC has been revitalized, from "seeing clearly" to "seeing clearly".
Embrace the era of "pan-security"
Over the past thirty years, the security industry has experienced upgrades from analog to digital, and from standard definition to high definition. On the other hand, it also took a different approach, actively adapted to industry and market demands, and sought diversified solutions with customers. In October 2018, ROOBO, a world-leading artificial intelligence solution provider, released the parenting magic "Pudding Mini Beans", focusing on the safe growth and real-time monitoring of children. The core device chip of the robot comes from the intelligent monitoring chip GK7102S independently developed by Gokewei. Gokewei's intelligent monitoring chip has begun to test the early education robot market.
"Pudding Mini Beans is a pilot project for us to seek diversified cooperation with customers. The market feedback is very good. Through cooperation, we have accumulated more experience. This year, our smart monitoring products have been adopted by many early education robot customers, such as iFlytek (Taoyun), Ruobo, Unisound, Turing, etc. These are brand customers with the highest sales in the market." said Li Miao.
In order to expand market applications, Gokewei chooses to cooperate with industry solution providers and platform providers, and provides partners with SDK-based intelligent algorithms, including video algorithms, interruption wake-up voice recognition technology, AI intelligent algorithms, GUI interface development and other intelligent application development, and jointly builds rich intelligent application scenarios with the industrial chain.
It took Goke less than a year for Goke to develop from a single product, Pudding Mini Bean, to a full-scale development of products such as Little Pudding, Bobby Bear, Cute Rabbit, and Yuebao Garden. Product performance is also continuously upgraded, and functions such as picture book recognition have been fully launched, making early childhood education smarter and more scientific. Based on accurate market positioning, customized development solutions for customers, and creating value for customers, Goke has made steady progress in the intelligent early childhood education robot market.
"Now many companies in the industry are trying to expand the scope of security and layout new areas. We have been in the forefront. In addition to entering the intelligent early childhood education robot market, we have also launched a smart doorbell in cooperation with China Mobile IoT. China Mobile IoT has very high standards for selecting suppliers, which also shows that our products are competitive in the market." Li Miao said that through this smart doorbell, the owner can view everything happening outside the door from inside the door, or check it on the mobile terminal, confirm safety and then choose whether to open the door. In addition, in the event of illegal entry such as picking the lock, breaking the door, and damaging the doorbell, the smart doorbell will automatically capture pictures and upload evidence to the mobile terminal and the cloud, and alarm at the same time.
Every time it enters a new field, Gokewei has invested a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources. However, Gokewei has not stopped developing new products. In addition to the above-mentioned markets, Gokewei has also made great efforts in emerging markets such as drones and QR code scanners. Li Miao said that Gokewei has always started from market demand, committed to solving users' pain points, and has worked hard in each market segment.
Next step, industry-level intelligent monitoring products
Despite its excellent performance in the consumer market, Gokewei is not limited to this. According to Li Miao, Gokewei's next-generation intelligent monitoring chip is positioned at the industry level, will have higher technology, lower power consumption, built-in Gokewei's fifth-generation ISP image processing technology, and has been deeply developed and drilled in the three dimensions of data, algorithms, and computing power. It can obtain processing and judgment capabilities through massive amounts of data, thereby greatly improving the accuracy of face recognition and human figure recognition.
Currently, the monitoring chips on the market mainly use 28nm, and the technical indicators of Gokewei's next-generation monitoring chips will be advanced. This chip will have ultra-low power consumption, edge AI, high and low temperature resistance, etc., which are most needed for industry-level monitoring chips. It is suitable for smart cities, smart transportation, government, industrial control and other fields.
In addition to thinking about new products, Gokewei has also begun to think about how to lower the price of monitoring products, bring them to tens of millions of households, and indirectly improve social security; and how to increase the service life of products, reduce waste generation, and even social issues such as how to recycle scrapped products.
As of the end of 2018, there were nearly 1,700 integrated circuit design companies in China, but more than 90% of them were only at the survival stage. Li Miao said that Gokewei has passed the stage of thinking about survival, and has successfully listed and obtained investment from a large fund. Next, the company will continue to explore the needs and application expansion of each customer segment, provide better products and services, and go deeper and further on the road of smart monitoring chips.
