Lei Jun of Xiaomi recently revealed the progress of DC dimming in Xiaomi 9 on Weibo. He said that after the release of Black Shark 2 with full DC dimming, many Mi fans hoped that Xiaomi 9 could also use it, and Zhang Guoquan, director of the system software department, was "under great pressure". Lei Jun said that users can experience the effect in the development version before May 1st, and Xiaomi 9 will not have horizontal stripes and flickering of PWM dimming when shooting videos with the camera at low brightness.

      This evening, @Calvin_吴仓志, deputy general manager of the display and touch department of Xiaomi Mobile Phone Department, said that there are currently three mainstream hardware DC dimming methods, and Xiaomi has adopted the fourth method -> Xiaomi new DC dimming method.

      Xiaomi's new DC dimming solution also uses a fixed brightness mode switching node, and uses Xiaomi system integration and self-developed algorithms integrated into the driver IC of the OLED screen to implement a "true hardware" DC dimming solution.
