This year's iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have added IP68 waterproof and dustproof functions, which means that the phone can stay in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. However, some domestic users recently said that their iPhone XS series phones have been soaked in water. When they sought help from Apple's official customer service, they were told that if the phone is damaged by water, it is considered an accidental damage and is not covered by Apple's warranty.
On the other hand, Apple customer service also emphasized to users that the IP68 waterproof and dustproof function is only splash-proof, not completely water-proof, and that the waterproof function may be affected due to wear and tear during the use of the device, causing water to enter the device.
In this regard, some lawyers believe that if Apple officially promotes its IP68 triple-proof performance without actual testing, it will easily mislead consumers into thinking that the phone is waterproof, and it may be suspected of false advertising and false propaganda.
