Several modes of Bluetooth devices [Copy link]

Several modes of Bluetooth devices

1. I don't understand the different modes of Bluetooth devices. For example, in slave mode, after turning on, it waits for a mobile phone or other terminal device to connect. Slave mode is connected, and broadcast mode is also connected. What is the difference? What is the main use of broadcast mode? Isn't it very power-consuming? Why do we need broadcast mode?

2. Also, can't both slave mode and master mode send and receive data? Why is there a master-slave integration? . . .

I'm not very clear about BLE Bluetooth, but the SLAVE mode of traditional Bluetooth is generally one-to-one or one-to-two with the master device. The broadcast mode of Bluetooth audio is BOARDCAST AUDIO mode. In this state, a master device can correspond to multiple slave devices at the same time.   Details Published on 2021-6-3 13:53

The title is incorrect. Bluetooth is not equal to BLE. What you mentioned in your post is BLE

The diagram you gave is divided according to the usage of the device. Note that it is different from the role concept in the BLE specification.

Pay attention to what you mean by "broadcast" and don't confuse the two.

Beacon is not connected and only sends data in one direction.

In order for a slave device to be discovered and connected by a master device, it must first advertise its existence. The master device responds to the advertising packet and initiates a connection.

The power consumption depends on the time the RF circuit is turned on. BLE works intermittently, and broadcasting does not mean continuous transmission.

The master-slave integration is a device that has multiple roles at the same time (time-division multiplexing) and communicates with multiple devices.

Does anyone know the difference between a slave and a beacom? They both wait to be connected, and they feel the same.  Details Published on 2021-5-27 18:14

There is actually a big difference between low-power Bluetooth and traditional Bluetooth

The slave mode is the connected device, the host is the device that initiates the connection, the slave broadcasts, and the host scans; the master-slave integration means that the slave can be connected and can also be connected by the host.

The key is that both the slave and Beacom are waiting to be connected, right? Doesn't the slave mode also need to wait for the host to respond before connecting?  Details Published on 2021-5-27 18:16
