5G network has the characteristics of high bandwidth and low latency. 5G lightweight (RedCap, abbreviation for Reduced Capability) technology simplifies the complexity of network equipment and terminal equipment, reduces overall cost, energy consumption, etc., and is the key to 5G realizing human and machine integration. , the important foundation of the Internet of Things, will play an active role in building new infrastructure for the Internet of Things, empowering the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposed that by 2025, the comprehensive capabilities of the 5G RedCap industry will be significantly improved, standards will continue to evolve, and the application scale will continue to grow. Cities at or above the county level across the country have achieved large-scale 5G RedCap coverage. 5G RedCap has more diverse application scenarios in the fields of industry, energy, logistics, Internet of Vehicles, public security, smart cities and other fields.
