Enabling design flexibility for smart applications: Rutronik offers iVativ RENO, an embedded Bluetooth 5.0 module
The iVativ RENO module is built on the Nordic nRF52840 SoC and supports Bluetooth 5.0, Thread/ZigBee/ANT, and NFC-A. The module integrates all relevant analog front ends, antennas, and crystals, is small in size (10 mm x 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm), and has very low power consumption, which can reduce system costs and provide excellent design flexibility. It provides advanced security features, integrated wireless stacks, network stacks, and application APIs, which can reduce the burden on the host processor, reduce development costs, and accelerate time to market. The iVativ RENO module is suitable for smart home applications, asset tracking and positioning equipment, smart fitness equipment, healthcare systems, IIoT sensors and controls, and mobile payment applications. Rutronik supplies the iVativ RENO Bluetooth 5.0 module on its e-commerce website.
iVativ’s embedded Bluetooth 5.0 modules enable design flexibility and reduce system costs
The RENO module ensures secure connection and data protection through low-power Bluetooth 5.0, and supports UART and SPI as interfaces with the user's MCU. The module has passed FCC, IC and CE certifications.
iVativ uses the ARM® CryptoCell 310 cryptographic accelerator and AES 128-bit encryption in the module. Through API and AT commands, this module can be used on all mainstream MCUs with little or no porting work. iVativ RENO seamlessly integrates user applications based on RTOS or bare metal and is independent of SoC/chipset and corresponding SDK/firmware. Similarly, the RENO module can ensure a secure boot process.
The RENO module integrates a PCB antenna or an MHF4 antenna connector, and iVativ also provides a matching development kit for each model.
The multi-protocol module operates in a -40°C to 85°C temperature range and 5% to 90% humidity range for industrial environments and is firmware updatable via OTA DFU.
