According to The Elec, according to a report released by Hana Financial Investment, South Korean telecommunications service provider HFR has been selected by Verizon, the largest telecommunications operator in the United States, to provide it with 5G fronthaul.
The report pointed out that with the support of this transaction, HFR's annual revenue is expected to reach 302.2 billion won (about 1.767 billion yuan) and its operating profit may be as high as 39.7 billion won.
It is reported that HFR previously provided wavelength division multiplexing fronthaul equipment for Verizon's 4G LTE network. This time, HFR will cooperate with Fujitsu to provide Verizon with 5G fronthaul equipment based on eCPRI packets.
