Imagination and Tencent WeTest launch in-depth cooperation to help developers obtain key GPU reports


WeTest’s PerfDog tool adds over 80 GPU counters for all platforms and architectures, providing developers with detailed interpretation of PowerVR GPU data indicators


London, UK and Shenzhen, China, September 27, 2021 – Imagination Technologies announced that it has deepened its cooperation with WeTest, a quality service brand under Tencent, to add more than 80 GPU counters for all platforms (Android/iOS) and all architectures to the new version 6.0 of WeTest's PerfDog tool to help developers obtain detailed PowerVR GPU key data reports. The two parties will also jointly launch a series of online public welfare courses for developers - Overview of GPU and related technologies, to build a platform for learning and communication for developers and practitioners.


PerfDog is a mobile full-platform professional performance optimization and improvement tool launched by WeTest to meet developers' performance testing needs. It began to be used by all internal teams of Tencent in July 2018. After five major version iterations, PerfDog 6.0 was fully commercialized in September 2021.


To better ensure that developers have a high-quality R&D environment and product quality, PerfDog has teamed up with Imagination in the latest 6.0 version to develop a basic information acquisition function for PowerVR GPUs (adding more than 80 GPU Counters for all platforms and architectures), which can help developers more easily obtain accurate and detailed GPU key parameters, so as to timely discover, locate and solve problems to achieve performance optimization.

PowerVR GPU is Imagination's most representative product. This series of courses includes PowerVR architecture overview, PowerVR tools and SDK, 3D graphics, PowerVR performance recommendation guide and hardware-level ray tracing, and will also introduce how to use PerfDog to interpret GPU indicator data.
