【GD32307E-START】01- Unpacking and post-test planning [Copy link]

This post was last edited by Shen Xiaolin on 2020-9-27 17:01

Today I received the love from EEWORD and the GD32307E-START development board. I am very happy to have such an opportunity to try it out. First of all, let me talk about the functional introduction of the main chip.

Development Board Description

  • Cortex-M4 core @ 120 MHz

  • Support software and hardware DSP instructions

  • Internal flash memory from 256 KB to 3072 KB

  • Built-in 48KB to 96KB SRAM

  • EXMC interface supports external SDRAM

  • Up to 5 UARTs (9Mbit/s)

  • Up to 3 SPI (30Mbit/s)

  • Up to 2 I2C (400Kbit/s)

  • Up to 2 CAN2.0B

  • Up to 2 I2S

  • Ethernet MAC

  • Support USB OTG FS

  • Up to three 12-bit, 2.6MSPS ADCs (up to 24 channels)

  • Up to 2 DACs

In the trial instructions, it says that this chip supports SDIO, but after checking, it turns out that this chip does not actually support SDIO. This error is corrected here to avoid future misunderstandings.

There are not many resources on the board.

  • GD-Link、
  • UART to USB,
  • USB interface
  • User button*1
  • LED*1

However, such a configuration is sufficient for chip verification work, but one advantage is that the board's IO is brought out, and users can draw expansion boards according to their own needs.

Post-test planning:

1: The drawing expansion version adds RS485 interface, SPI-FLASH, 0.96-inch OLED display interface, CAN interface, DS18B20 temperature sensor interface, and PWM-LED.

2: PCB proofing, welding and functional testing.

3: Build the programming environment, write the routine sample of the development board, and light up the LED

4: Write Modbus-RTU routine

5: Write OLED display routine

6: Write a DS18B20 test program

7: Write PWM output lighting control

8: Comprehensive test, using Modbus-RTU protocol to complete communication to achieve light intensity control, DS18B20 temperature OLED display and remote data transmission.

After writing so much about the plan, let's take a look at the focus of today. : GB32307E-START development board, a glimpse of the development board

This chip does not support SDIO. Look at its data sheet first. The data sheet does not even have pin assignments.  Details Published on 2020-9-27 16:47

Looking at the user manual, it seems that only 303 has SDIO. The corresponding positions of 305 and 307 are USB modules.  Details Published on 2020-9-27 18:25
