Google announces new features for Android Q: dark mode added, privacy monitoring upgraded

The 2019 Google I/O conference officially kicked off at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, with Google executives appearing one after another to give keynote speeches for new products. Like previous years, Google spent a lot of time talking about the new Android operating system at the I/O conference this year. Today at the conference, Google launched updates to the Google Assistant.  

Android Q is also known as Android 10. At the conference, the presenter said that this year Google will pay great attention to data health. In an era when smartphones have become indispensable, this is very necessary.  

Google has always been leading the way in innovation. This year's big trend, foldable devices, has naturally been considered by Google. The future of mobile devices, foldable devices, you know, their most outstanding feature is multi-tasking at the same time. Android Q has launched a multi-tasking mode. For example, when users are playing games, because the foldable device directly transforms into a large screen, they will not stop the game because of messaging and chatting.  

5G is another aspect of the update. The relationship between 5G network and immersive gaming experience is very close, which is something we need to understand. Now 20 operators around the world have launched 5G networks, and 5G devices are now running Android systems, so it is critical for Android Q to upgrade to 5G networks.   

Android Q takes the deaf and mute into full consideration. It can realize real-time subtitles. Users can directly convert sound into subtitles and move subtitles. And most importantly, it does not require a network. This is a technical breakthrough in Google's voice technology. Google uses machine learning to realize intelligent replies, emoticons, and reply suggestions. For example, when a friend sends an address, the system can directly open the map. Next is the dark mode that has been rumored. The presenter said that this mode can help users save power and protect night vision.   

Throughout the demonstration, the presenter has been emphasizing security and privacy issues. To achieve this goal, Google said that it has achieved the highest scores in 30 security tests. It has also launched 50 functions to ensure the privacy and security of the device. In the settings, activities, addresses, etc. can be turned off, and users can choose whether to open or not, which puts the initiative in the hands of users. When not in use, Q can notify users of the operation of the application to obtain location information and ask users whether they agree or not. Another one is encryption, which can change and hide the user's address at any time. It can be seen that Google is trying its best to ensure the privacy and security of users.  

Faster updates of security applications in the background is another area where Google has put a lot of effort. Google has also taken digital health into consideration. The system can display the time users use their phones and list time charts to give users the most direct display.  

Android Q's focus mode allows users to concentrate on work and study without worrying about important information being ignored. Users can also receive phone calls and messages from friends during this process.  

Parental control: users can directly view the applications on their children’s phones, application usage time, etc. through the system, and can also remotely set the device shutdown time.
