Universal Robots (UR), a global collaborative robot manufacturer, recently announced that it will launch a new collaborative robot with a load capacity of up to 30 kg to further expand its product system.
UR30 New Collaborative Robot
UR30 is the second next-generation innovative series of industrial collaborative robots from Universal Robots after UR20. It has the same architecture as the award-winning UR20. UR30 is compact, has excellent lifting force, and its powerful motion control capabilities ensure perfect handling of larger loads, bringing collaborative robot performance to a new level in terms of operating speed and load weight.
UR30 can be used in a variety of scenarios such as machine tending, material handling and high-torque screw tightening. In terms of machine tending, the large payload brings new possibilities, enabling the collaborative robot to use multiple fixtures at the same time. This means it can remove finished parts and load more material in one operation, thereby reducing changeover time and maximizing productivity.
At the same time, the UR30 can effectively support high-torque screw tightening and can handle larger tools with higher output torque. Thanks to the stable mode function, the UR30 can provide straight and consistent screw tightening, which is of great benefit to industries such as automotive.
In addition, the UR30 has a payload of 30 kg, making it ideal for material handling and palletizing of heavy products in a variety of industries. Its small footprint makes it suitable for almost any workplace, reducing the burden of manual lifting of heavy objects. It weighs only 63.5 kg and can be easily moved between work cells.
Mr. Kim Povlsen, Global President of Universal Robots , said: "Larger payloads and greater flexibility lay the foundation for a new era of automation. Industries around the world are adopting more agile manufacturing methods and modular production, and one of the keys to achieving this is mobility. This collaborative robot can still meet mobility requirements while increasing payload."
“As industry evolves, the UR30 not only meets but also anticipates changing industry needs, enabling companies to effectively adapt and respond to external influences. With our continued innovation, the UR30 is another solid step forward for Universal Robots on its journey to push the boundaries of what is possible in automation.”
