Recently, Hunan Gugong Robot Co. , Ltd. officially announced the completion of millions of yuan in angel round financing. This round of financing was personally invested by Chen Zhongping, chairman of Hongyang Home Decoration Group, and Huafeng Capital served as the financial advisor for this round of financing. It is reported that this round of funds will be used to increase the company's R&D investment in the field of construction robots, improve and expand the product matrix, build publicity and marketing channels, and help the company develop further. The Changsha Intelligent Robot Research Institute, led by the well-known scholar Professor Li Zexiang , is also one of the founding shareholders of Gugong Robot, and its shareholders also include well-known listed companies such as Lens Technology and Googol Technology.
Against the backdrop of the intelligent transformation of the construction industry, traditional construction companies are actively deploying robot empowerment. Gugong Robot has gained favor from the capital market with its independently developed core technologies and product advantages. This round of financing may indicate that the construction robot industry will usher in new development opportunities.
Introduction to GUGONG Robotics
In December 2020, Gugong Robotics was officially established in Changsha, positioning itself as an intelligent construction equipment provider. Its main products include intelligent construction equipment such as wire-laying operation robots, precision leveling robots, upper limb assisted exoskeletons, and intelligent building manufacturing equipment such as flexible manufacturing production lines for steel cages.
Product and technical advantages of GG Robotics
Compared with other construction robot start-ups, the biggest advantage of Gugong Robot lies in its independently developed core technology. Its "unstructured scene high-precision laser positioning technology" can achieve high-precision line laying within a 60-meter operating radius of ±2mm, and has an autonomous obstacle avoidance function that can adapt to complex construction scenes, which provides a guarantee for the use of Gugong Robot's products in complex environments.
The wire laying robot is one of the main products of Gugong Robotics. Traditional manual work is inefficient, and a large project often requires 4-5 wire laying operators. The wire laying robot is easy to operate, which improves work efficiency and quality while effectively reducing labor costs. In addition, Gugong Robotics also has products such as precision leveling robots and upper limb power exoskeletons.
On the factory side, the flexible steel cage production line launched by GG Robotics is equivalent to the workload of 64 steel workers and can significantly improve production efficiency. GG Robotics has formed a systematic product system by deploying the markets at both the construction site and the factory, and is committed to providing customers with comprehensive solutions.
Chen Zhongping, chairman of Hongyang Home Furnishing Group, one of the investors in this round, said, "Automation and intelligence in the construction and decoration industry have always been Hongyang's key focus. With changes in policies, labor costs and other factors, extensive development has become a thing of the past, and the entire industry has begun to truly pay attention to cost reduction and efficiency improvement. The application of robotics technology in this industry has huge market prospects." He believes that robotics technology can effectively improve the efficiency and quality of the construction industry, and that solid engineering robots have advantages in technology and application. Hongyang Group is interested in in-depth cooperation with them to jointly promote intelligent construction in the industry.
Problems and opportunities facing the smart construction industry
The combination of robotics and the construction industry can unleash huge productivity. At present, construction robots are mainly used in structural construction, prefabricated construction, decoration construction and other links. Compared with manual work, robot operations are more accurate, efficient and reliable.
1. Structural construction: Wire-laying robots, level robots, etc. can achieve precise line-laying and positioning to ensure structural quality; precision leveling robots, plastering robots, etc. can improve the efficiency of leveling operations.
2. Prefabricated construction: welding robots , assembly robots , etc. can realize industrial assembly and construction.
3. Decoration construction: Spraying robot Realizes intelligent spraying, and ceiling robot realizes rapid ceiling construction.
As my country's urbanization process continues to advance, the construction industry has developed rapidly, but it has also exposed the problem of "high investment and low efficiency". As a traditional industry, the construction industry generally has drawbacks such as extensive management, serious waste of resources, and low labor productivity. In addition, the construction industry is also facing human resource problems such as aging workers and young employees' reluctance to enter the industry.
In this context, it is imperative to develop intelligent construction and promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry. Intelligent construction can effectively improve the level of automation in the construction industry and reduce dependence on manpower. At the same time, it can also optimize the construction process, improve resource utilization efficiency, and reduce construction costs. Therefore, the intelligent construction market has broad space and huge potential.
Challenges facing the development of intelligent construction
Despite the broad prospects, the promotion of intelligent construction also faces many challenges. The first is technical difficulties. The complex and changeable environment of construction sites places high demands on the perception and motion control capabilities of robots. The second is industrial support, which requires collaborative innovation among building materials companies, construction companies, and robot companies. The third is operating costs. Robot equipment requires large investments and high maintenance costs, and there is an urgent need to reduce the cost of use. Finally, there is management change. Enterprises need to adjust to the model of intelligent construction.
Looking into the future, as technology continues to advance, the application scenarios of construction robots in the construction industry will be greatly expanded . Against the backdrop of industrial upgrading, construction companies should follow the general trend of development and accelerate the pace of intelligent construction. I believe that new technologies represented by robots will help China's construction industry achieve new leapfrog development.
