C-5000 welding tongs

Position a Fixed electrode arm Position b Mobile sliding electrode Position c Drive motor Position d Bracket and support plate for manual quick-change clutch Position e Conductive strip Position f Transformer Aligning the C-5000 electrode arms Not optimally aligned with each other can be the cause of unclean welds or deformations of the workpiece. This can be adjusted accordingly depending on the design. C-type welding tongs either have both electrodes that can be rotated or the sliding electrode can be aligned to the fixed electrode. Both possibilities are described below. Carry out the following steps before aligning the electrode arms: Step 1: Disconnect the welding tongs. Step 2: Switch off the cooling water circulation. Step 3: Move the robot with welding tongs to a safe maintenance position. Alternatively, separate the robot welding tongs from the robot and position the robot welding tongs on a base frame suitable for maintenance work. Rotate both electrodes:

To turn the entire clamping base of the two electrode arms, loosen the side clamping screws (a) and screw in the expansion screws (b) until the electrode arms can be turned. After setting, unscrew the expansion screws (b) again so that the clamping screws (a) can clamp the electrode arms again. Before clamping the electrode arms, check all insulation parts to make sure they are not damaged. Replace insulation parts if necessary! The slots in the insulation sleeves must be aligned so that they face downwards when the clamp body is installed to prevent dirt from entering. Tighten the clamping screws again after adjustment. Adjusting the movable electrode:

To adjust the movable electrode sideways, loosen the clamping bolts (a) on both sides and then change the electrode position. Tighten the clamping bolts after adjustment. The electrode cannot be adjusted in height.

To adjust the fixed electrode (a), loosen the clamping bolt (b) and tighten the expansion bolt (c) until the electrode can be rotated. When the setting is complete, tighten the expansion bolt (c) again so that the clamping bolt (b) can clamp the electrode arm again.
