Whether it’s couriers that quickly deliver orders to your doorstep, manufacturing robots that assist humans, or handheld DNA sequencers that help scientists protect crops from pests and diseases, these machines are no longer science fiction, but are gradually becoming a reality, driven by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier platform.
Now, there’s a powerful tool for handling these tasks: the Jetson AGX Xavier module, available today as part of the Jetson TX2 and TX1 families.
Developers can use Jetson AGX Xavier to build autonomous machines that will solve some of the world’s toughest problems and help transform a wide range of industries. Millions of them are expected to enter this market in the coming years.
Workstation performance with radio power consumption
The Jetson AGX Xavier module can be used as the powerful brain of any robot you can imagine. It will provide extraordinary performance like a workstation server in a tiny package that fits in the palm of your hand.
Consuming just 10 watts of power — about the same as a clock radio — the module enables companies to develop applications on the Jetson AGX Xavier developer kit to enter volume production, bringing the next generation of robots and other autonomous machines into people’s lives.
Software that delivers real impact
The Jetson AGX Xavier module leverages NVIDIA’s world-class AI platform, which is used in many AI applications. This includes a complete set of tools and workflows to help developers quickly train and deploy.
It supports applications developed using the JetPack and DeepStream software development kits. JetPack is NVIDIA's autonomous machine K, which supports , multimedia, and more.
Jetson AGX Xavier’s DeepStream SDK supports streaming analytics, bringing AI to urban applications. Developers can build multi-camera and multi-applications to detect and identify objects of interest, such as vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles.
These SDKs save developers and businesses time and money while making it easy to add new features and functionality to improve performance on any machine.
This new software combination now enables large-scale deployment of AI-driven robots, IVA applications, and other smart devices.
Industry Support
Early users of Jetson AGX Xavier are praising its incredible processing power and power efficiency.
It is at the heart of real-time processing of DNA sequencing by UK medical technology startup Oxfd Nanopore.
“We are using Jetson AGX Xavier in our MinIT handheld AI supercomputer, which works with MinION, a powerful handheld DNA sequencer, for real-time analysis,” said Gordon Sanghera, CEO of Oxford Nanopore. “MinIT is nearly 10 times more powerful than a typical laptop, making portable, real-time sequencing available to more people in more places.”
Global automotive parts maker DENSO believes Jetson AGX Xavier will be key to helping it introduce a new wave of energy efficiency in its operations.
“DENSO can leverage its long history in automotive parts manufacturing to bring AI to its factories, improving productivity and efficiency while also enhancing workplace safety,” said Katsuhiko Sugito, executive director of DENSO Corporation. “We believe Jetson AGX Xavier will be a key platform to advance this initiative.”
Jetson family of products meets the various needs of autonomous machines
The Jetson AGX Xavier module brings unprecedented performance to the Jetson family, which includes solutions at different performance levels and prices to meet the needs of a variety of autonomous robotics applications.

The Jetson TX2 module for edge AI applications is now available in three versions: Jetson TX2, Jetson TX2i and the new, lower-cost Jetson TX2 B. Products based on Jetson TX1 can migrate to the more powerful Jetson TX2 4GB at the same price.
NVIDIA developer kits, now available for each member of the Jetson family, allow companies to create and deploy a wide range of applications for a variety of use cases using a unified software architecture.
