Accurate navigation helps efficient handling

Due to the narrow spacing between shelves in the customer's factory, standard stacking forward AGVs are usually unable to complete the transportation operation with material turning. Transporting materials without changing the original layout of the shelves has become the primary task in the introduction of AGVs.

After on-site consideration of the transportation route and shelf spacing, the project team decided to improve the design of the AGV. Based on the Hangcha intelligent standard 2t stacking forward AGV, equipped with Kollmorgen NDC8's laser navigation solution, high-precision operations are achieved. With its advantages of high degree of freedom, high load, and high lifting, supplemented by the support of high-position shelf systems, warehouse location management systems, and various interface systems, the AGV can freely shuttle in narrow aisles and can carry 2t of goods.

Design highlights

Highlight 1: Redesign of the vehicle body structure

A new laser navigation solution is deployed. By changing the laser position, the length and width of the vehicle body are optimized without affecting the safety protection performance, thereby reducing the minimum turning radius and meeting the customer's needs for operation in narrow alleys.

Highlight 2: Change the structure of the navigation laser mounting bracket

The mounting bracket adopts a frame structure, which has the characteristics of high strength and not easy to shake, making it more convenient for installation and maintenance, and can further improve the stability of the AGV during operation.

Highlight 3: Adding sensors to improve detection tolerance

The design and use of multiple sets of sensors can detect the position of goods and pallets at the same time when picking and placing goods. It has a high fault tolerance rate and can also pick and place goods normally even when the goods overflow from the pallet, thereby improving the working efficiency of AGV.

5G connects smart factories to accelerate

In logistics handling scenarios, collaborative collision-free operations between AGVs, as well as real-time data exchange and communication with other devices all need to be achieved through wireless networks, and the decisive factor is the speed of the network.

In order to ensure the speed of information exchange between devices and minimize network delay, the project has carried out all-round coverage and high-density connection of the factory area based on 5G Wi-Fi. By using key scenario applications such as 5G+PDA, 5G+AGV, 5G+smart warehousing, and production line data collection and remote control of 5G private networks, combined with management systems such as ERP and AMS, communication has become more timely and efficient, enabling textile companies to achieve comprehensive and real-time monitoring of shelf location information, equipment operating status, etc.

Process Introduction

The cloth is automatically transferred from the conveyor line to the material frame. When the frame is full, the PDA is manually operated to put the material frame into storage, and the rotating table sorts the material frame to the corresponding AGV fork position;

After the PDA scans the fork to take position, tasks are automatically generated. The system controls the AGV to perform operations such as outbound delivery, empty pallet return, and inbound delivery, and updates inventory information in real time.
