During the 2023 ITES Shenzhen Industrial Exhibition, Han's Robotics officially launched the Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series of collaborative robots with the theme of "Powerful Action and Boundless Vision" at the online conference. It is developed based on the Elfin series and has the advantages of the Elfin series while taking a big step forward on the basis of the Elfin series, realizing integrated force control, integrated vision, 1000Hz communication speed, etc. Many parameter indicators have reached the industry-leading level.
Integration is the development trend
With the rapid development of robot technology, the industries and scenarios where robots can be deployed are becoming more and more diverse, and robots have become one of the important "tools" for the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing to high-end manufacturing. For production lines, when choosing a collaborative robot, factors such as simple deployment, flexibility and ease of use, adaptability, safety and reliability, and cost-effectiveness are prerequisites that must be considered.
As for the force control function of collaborative robots, the most common configuration mode at this stage is still the traditional "robot body + external parts" configuration mode, that is, an external force sensor is installed on the robot tool end to achieve force control accuracy. This external force sensor method still has some problems, such as long deployment time, not only to install the robot body, but also to consider the interference of the wiring harness on the movement of the robot arm; difficult debugging operation, requiring technicians to perform on-site debugging, and may even derive secondary development needs... In addition, there are also problems such as high cost, I/O interface resource occupation, and difficulty in switching production lines.
Most importantly, in some specific production environments, integration is the only option for end users. For example, in extremely dust-prone working conditions, the robot arm will inevitably rub against the external wiring harness during operation to generate dust particles, causing the collaborative robot to be unable to meet production requirements; secondly, in an environment with strong magnetic interference, if the external wiring harness does not have additional shielding protection, it is very susceptible to signal interference, resulting in communication anomalies and other problems.
Han's Robotics' Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series collaborative robots have integrated force control and integrated vision, and can be deployed within 15 minutes, making them truly ready to use right out of the box. In addition, they use an internal wiring layout to further enhance the robot's anti-interference ability, allowing it to adapt to more complex production environments.
Integrated terminal force control mode
The force/torque range of the end force control of the Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series collaborative robots is 200N and 10Nm, which can meet the needs of robotic arms with loads below 10KG for force sensors and maintain stable and reliable performance under full load and full speed conditions; the test accuracy of Elfin Pro (E-Pro) is 0.5%FS and the accuracy is 2.0%FS, reaching the industry-leading level.
Elfin Pro (E-Pro) can be widely used in welding, physical therapy, grinding and other industries——
Welding: In the "free drive" mode, Elfin Pro (E-Pro) achieves a smoother end drag effect, allowing users to easily and quickly drag the welding gun to the designated target welding point, achieving accuracy and improving work efficiency.
Physiotherapy: For practitioners in the physiotherapy industry, it is extremely important to achieve a gentler drag. With Elfin Pro (E-Pro), users only need to use a drag force of less than 3N to easily achieve dragging, with almost no difficulty in operation.
Grinding: Elfin Pro (E-Pro) has realized the "constant force control" function based on integrated force control, ensuring that the fluctuation of the contact force between the grinding tool and the workpiece surface is controlled within 1N during the grinding process, which is fully applicable to various complex grinding needs. In addition, Elfin Pro (E-Pro) also has a "track fitting" function to meet the needs of fast switching between different workpieces being polished.
In addition, there are many other scenarios where Elfin Pro (E-Pro) can be used, but for users, its use has always been very simple.
Integrated AI Vision
The Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series of collaborative robots have overcome the difficulty of miniaturizing the front AI vision and achieved integrated internal wiring applications, so that they have both eyes (vision) and brains (AI), achieving the goal of being able to see, see accurately, and "think".
In high-end application fields such as semiconductors and medical treatment , through high-precision automatic calibration, the positioning accuracy of Elfin Pro (E-Pro) is as high as 0.2mm, which can cover 80% of visual application scenarios, including positioning, image processing, color extraction, QR code recognition, etc.
In addition, based on the AI training platform independently developed by Han's Robotics, Elfin Pro (E-Pro) can complete rapid learning and practical application within 15 minutes using a small amount of data. For example, through the classification and recognition algorithm, it can quickly determine whether there is residual liquid in the test tube and the appearance color, etc., to meet the real-time sorting process requirements.
Just like the integrated force control, the operation can be completed in three simple steps.
1000Hz communication speed
The Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series collaborative robot controller uses EtherCAT bus communication with each joint, which has strong anti-interference ability and high safety. It can achieve a real-time control refresh frequency of 1000Hz, reaching the industry-leading level, providing a hardware foundation for integrators to improve the overall performance of the system, and helping to achieve faster response, smoother trajectory, more stable motion control and more precise position control.
In the era of intelligent manufacturing, Han's Robotics' Elfin Pro (E-Pro) series of integrated force control and integrated visual collaborative robots can meet the needs of industries such as precision machining, semiconductors, physical therapy, medical experiments, new consumption and automobile manufacturing, and are the optimal and intelligent choice for realizing smart factories.
